Lava Distributed SQL

Several database vendors label their products "Distributed".  Almost all of them are actually referring to Replication Servers - in other words, a second or nth database server linked to the main server and providing (storing) the same data.  This allows (primarily) distribution of load, and nothing much more.

The Lava Distributed SQL database is a true distributed database - not only is it possible to configure replications servers if this is required (we call these Satellite Servers) - it is possible to distribute the database to the client application itself.  In other words, a native client is actually mounted on its own, single-user database, with all the benefits this brings.  These include better performance and therefore a more responsive application, lower load on the server and the network, and most especially significant advantages to the programmer.  See our information page Lava Distributed SQL for details.

The Lava system is much more than just another SQL database. At the leading edge of database technology, Lava Distributed SQL provides not only a fully distributed database allowing unparalleled performance and ease of use, it also provides a wealth of resources for programmer and administrator alike.

Lava Administrator

The Lava Administrator provides a powerful yet easy-to-use interface for managing and monitoring a Lava server, as well as facilities for creating new databases, backup, restore, adjusting database parameters and users, as well as table attributes.

Blueprint

Blueprint is the development interface for the Lava system, providing facilities for programming, dictionary design, table import from foreign databases, project management and diagramming.

Lava Query

The Lava Query system provides a primary interface to the database, allowing ad-hoc query, connection to other databases, and detailed administration of database parameters.
